Patrick Carey

Growing up in rural Kentucky, Pat spent many days on the family tobacco farm working long days and learning a love for growing plants. With that seed planted, he moved on to college at Western Kentucky University and University of Louisville. While attending University of Louisville in 1991 he found his dream job at Riverfarm Nursery, a premier 350 acre nursery growing shade trees and ornamentals. With his love for plants and hard work, he moved up to Head Grower and General Manager after only a few years. Almost 30 years later in 2020 it was time for a new challenge. He left Riverfarm for a sales representative position with J Frank Schmidt & Son Co., the largest bare root liner nursery in the country. Pat quickly realized that his customers were looking for more than he could provide from one source. In order to provide multiple opportunities for his customers Pat joined with National Nursery Products/The Nursery Stock Market in 2023. The amazing people in our business have made every day of his 35 years serving the horticultural industry a joy. It is always a pleasure helping his network of friends (customers) look better with access to the finest growers in the country.
